Clothes That Inspire, From Paris With Love!

Parisian women have a unique way of inspiring the world of beauty and fashion to newer heights and deeper depths. Yes they push the fashionista to rethink the terms, "Classic, Simple and Elegant." Let me give you an example of what I know about these women. While working at the Lancome Cosmetic Counter in Michigan City, Indiana, I had the unique opportunity to meet women who lived in New Buffalo, Michigan. One day while at the counter, an unassuming woman approached me and began her conversation in a thick French accent. She began to tell me about her family business in France, her Chateau or "home" in her country and the imfamous fashion sense Parisian women. We spent over an hour talking about her family owned pattern company that was partnered with all of the major designers back in the day. Now, if you had seen this woman you would have never imagined that her she came from money, old money to be exact, and that she had a sense of style. She wore a simple strand of pearls and an outfit that didn't scream wealth or prestige but silently spoke of elegance. I was told that women in France know who you are and how much money you have by looking at the buttons on your clothing. She stated that each seamtress or tailor has a certain logo imprinted on their buttons that allows the observer to know the money behind the creation. Also, women in Paris are taught to dress simple, elegant, and stylish without being being in overkill. Many times we in the states have taken for granted that the more we wear and the more expensive the label equals fashion sense but let me inspire you to rethink your view of what is classic, timeless and elegant. First, women who understand fashion know that less is more, simple is elegant and classic is Chanel. Take a simple black dress, pair it with a strand of pearls and a pair of beautiful and elegant black pumps and you have created a masterpiece that any woman would envy. Now of course you can change the pumps to something more colorful but the point is make it simple if you want to inspire. Sometimes the clothes that speak the loudest are the ones that say the least.
